NEW DELHI: Calling Niti Aayog a "failure," Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Manoj Jha criticised the nodal agency on Saturday and said that till now it has achieved nothing.

"What is NITI Aayog? It is a body that was formed for a particular academic exercise. What is achieved from it? Absolutely nothing" said Manoj Jha while speaking to ANI.

"NITI Aayog is a failure, a failed idea . The 240 mandate of the BJP also has the same message: that the collective should be restored," he added.

Planning Commission vs Niti Aayog

The RJD leader also questioned the problem in continuing withthe Planning Commission which formulated India's Five Year Plans, apart from belonging to Nehru's era.

"What was the problem with the Planning Commission? Just because it was from Nehru's time. But you are carrying several things from Nehru's era," said Jha.

'United and stand together'

Manoj Jha said that BJP is wrong to think that there is a lack of coordination among the INDI alliance.

"Having or not having episodic coordination is a whole different thing but in essence, we are all united and stand together," the RJD leader said.

The 9th Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog took place at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre in New Delhi today, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The theme of this year's meeting is ' Viksit Bharat@2047 ' which focuses on transforming India into a developed nation by 2047.
