Anushka Sharma advises her 'home' Virat Kohli to have a 'glass of sparkling water' after India's victory at T20 World Cup

The Indian cricket team made history by beating South Africa black and blue at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 by seven runs! Taking to Instagram 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi' star Anushka Sharma shared a bunch of photos of the cricket team and shared a cute anecdote of daughter Vamika.

The actress revealed that their three-year-old daughter was worried that the cricket team members may not have anyone to hug them after the match. She went on to assure the youngster that the members were sent virtual hugs by 1.5 billion people.

“Our daughter’s biggest concern was if all the players had someone to hug them after she saw them cry on TV… yes, my darling, they were hugged by 1.5 billion people (red heart emoji). What a phenomenal victory and what a legendary achievement!! CHAMPIONS - CONGRATULATIONS!! (National flag and blue heart emojis)," wrote the 'Pari' star.

Sharma also got mushy over hubby Virat Kohli. Dropping a picture of a triumphant Kohli lifting the trophy, she lavished praises on him like any proud wife and ended by telling him to go and have a glass of water.

"AND ….. I love this man (red heart emoji) @virat.kohli . So grateful to call you my home (red heart emoji)- now go have a glass of sparkling water for me to celebrate this! (Wink and kissing face emojis), " read the post.

Stars Amitabh Bachchan and Preity Zinta also extended congratulations to the team. Calling the team “ world Champion”, the ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ tweeted, "T 5057 - Tears flowing down .. in unison with those that TEAM INDIA sheds... WORLD CHAMPIONS INDIA. Long live Mother India. Jai Hind Jai Hind Jai Hind."

RRR star Ram Charan also penned a hearty note of congratulations to the team. "Incredible win for Team India! Well done, team! Hurrah for @Jaspritbumrah93 and outstanding performances by @imVkohli and @hardikpandya7! Kudos to our captain @ImRo45 and all the people behind the scenes for making this win so memorable,’’ he wrote.

Superstar Mahesh Babu also heaped praises on the team and wrote that he was “super proud. “

Bollywood’s chirpy girl Zinta also celebrated the hard-earned victory on X triumphantly. Sharing a pic of the cricket team, she wrote, "Yeahhhhhhhhhh!!!!! Oh, India! WE WON…"
