Bhubaneswar: Several students from classes I to XII took part in a sit and draw competition organised by Sri Satyasai Enclave Welfare Society in Kolathia here, in association with TOI under the ‘My City My Pride’ initiative on Tuesday.
The daylong event concluded with a prize and certificate distribution ceremony. Students took part in the sit and draw competition in two groups. In the junior group, Anish Sahu of Class III bagged the first prize while Ayansh Pattnaik of Class III got the second prize and Arnab Swain of Class II received the third prize. In the senior group of the competition, Sradha Suman Baliarsingh of Class XII bagged the first prize, Monalisa Mohapatra of Class XI got the second prize and Shilpi Priyadarshini of Class VII received the third prize.

Govt doubles prize money for international medalists The state government of Madhya Pradesh has announced that players who win medals at international level events, including the Olympics and Asian Games, will receive double the prize money. Even athletes who place fourth will be given cash prizes. The state sports awards will also be increased in number, and cash rewards will be given to coaches. The government will provide financial support to state-level sports associations, and sports infrastructure will be expanded. The Chief Minister also announced the reservation of posts for sportspersons in every department.
Odia researcher gets Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize Dipti Ranjan Sahoo, an Odia researcher and professor at IIT Delhi, has been awarded the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for science and technology for 2022. He will receive the prestigious award in the engineering sciences category along with Rajnish Kumar from IIT Madras. Sahoo's research areas include earthquake-resistant design, seismic fragility assessment, and structural fire engineering. He has published over 250 research articles and filed five patents related to earthquake and structural fire engineering.
