Western Railway Launches Special Superfast Trains for Festive Rush Between Mumbai and New Delhi, and Bandra Terminus to Gorakhpur

Mumbai: In anticipation of the festive season and to ease passenger travel, Western Railway has announced special superfast trains between Mumbai Central and New Delhi and Bandra Terminus to Gorakhpur via Valsad. These trains aim to handle the surge in passengers during this period, providing a smoother and more convenient travel experience.

Mumbai Central – New Delhi Superfast Special

The Mumbai Central-New Delhi Superfast Special Train (Train No. 04001) will operate on select dates, departing Mumbai Central at 11:30 PM on 13th and 16th November. It will reach New Delhi the next evening at 8:50 PM. The return journey (Train No. 04002) will leave New Delhi on 12th and 15th November at 10:40 PM, arriving in Mumbai the following evening at 9:00 PM.

This special service will benefit passengers across Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh as well, with planned halts at Borivali, Surat, Vadodara, Ratlam, Nagda, Kota, and Mathura. Catering to passenger needs, this train will include AC 3-Tier Economy coaches for added comfort. Bookings for the festival special are available through all PRS counters and on IRCTC’s official website.

Bandra Terminus – Gorakhpur Superfast Winter Special

Western Railway has also introduced a winter special train between Bandra Terminus, Gorakhpur, and Valsad to manage the winter travel rush. Running unreserved, this superfast train will operate with special fares for four journeys, providing more passengers with the chance to travel affordably.

  • Train No. 09093 will depart from Bandra Terminus on 10th and 17th November at 6:00 AM, reaching Gorakhpur by the following afternoon at 3:05 PM.
  • On its return journey, Train No. 09094 will leave Gorakhpur on 11th and 18th November at 6:05 PM, reaching Valsad by early Wednesday morning at 1:05 AM.

This train will make several stops at important stations, including Surat, Vadodara, Ratlam, Kota, Bharatpur, Mathura, Kasganj, Farrukhabad, Gursahaiganj, Kanpur Central, Lucknow, Gonda, Balrampur, Tulsipur, Siddharthnagar, and Anand Nagar. Additionally, Train No. 09093 will offer extra halts at Borivali and Vapi for added convenience.

According to Western Railway officials, the train will feature second-class general compartments only, ensuring maximum seating capacity and access for a greater number of passengers.
