April 11, New Delhi The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has officially postponed the application start date for the much-anticipated Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) Recruitment 2025. Originally scheduled to begin on April 10, the application window will now open on April 12, 2025, and will remain active until May 11, 2025.

image Eligibility Criteria (Based on Previous Year)
  • Educational Qualification:

    • 10th pass + ITI in relevant trade or

    • 10th pass + 3-year diploma in engineering (related trade) or

    • Degree in engineering (in lieu of diploma)

  • Age Limit:

    • 18–30 years (as on cut-off date)

    • Age relaxation: SC/ST 5 years, OBC 3 years

  • Aadhaar Verification Required:
    Applicants must verify their primary details using Aadhaar during the application process to avoid delays in verification and disqualification.

image RRB ALP Selection Process & Exam Pattern 1⃣ First Stage CBT (Computer-Based Test)
  • Duration: 60 minutes

  • Questions: 75 (Maths, Reasoning, General Science, GK/Current Affairs)

  • Qualifying Marks:

    • UR: 40%

    • OBC/SC: 30%

    • ST: 25%

  • Negative Marking: 1/3 mark deducted per wrong answer

2⃣ Second Stage CBT
  • Total Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes

  • Divided into Two Parts:

Part A

  • Duration: 90 minutes

  • Questions: 100

  • Subjects: Maths, Reasoning, General Science, GK

  • Qualifying Marks: Same as Stage 1

Part B

  • Duration: 60 minutes

  • Questions: 75 (Trade-specific questions)

  • Qualifying Marks: 35% (uniform across all categories)

3⃣ Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)
  • Minimum Marks: 42 (no relaxation)

  • Only candidates who qualify Stage 2 are called for CBAT

4⃣ Document Verification image Application Fee
  • General/OBC: ₹500 (₹400 refunded after appearing in CBT 1)

  • SC/ST/Women/EBC/PwD: ₹250 (Full refund after CBT 1)
