Fire Incident in Chembur: Five Fatalities Reported

Mumbai, October 6: The BMC Disaster Control reported a tragic incident that occurred on Sunday. A devastating fire in a shop in the Chembur suburb of northern Mumbai claimed the lives of five people, including two children. Two others were severely burned and are in critical condition.

The horrific incident took place around 5:15 AM in Siddharth Colony. The deceased include a husband and wife, their two children, and a relative. They were asleep at the time of the fire and were unaware of the situation.

The fire broke out for unknown reasons in a shop located on the ground floor and spread through the electrical wiring to the upper floors. Gradually, all household belongings were consumed by the flames. The shop was on the ground floor, while the family lived on the upper floor. The fire department was alerted and arrived on the scene to rescue the victims.

The victims were rushed to Rajawadi Hospital, where doctors pronounced them dead upon arrival.

The deceased have been identified as Anita Gupta (39 years), Prem Gupta, Manju Prem Gupta (30 years), Narendra Gupta (10 years), and Paris Gupta (7 years).

An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire, and further details are awaited.

It is worth mentioning that on Saturday, a massive fire near Mumbai destroyed an entire warehouse. The incident occurred in a village in Bhiwandi taluka, about 40 kilometers from Mumbai, where a fire broke out at the V Logistics warehouse on Friday night. The warehouse contained large quantities of hydraulic oil, fabric, plastic items, and chemicals. Fortunately, no one was injured in that incident.
