Microsoft has officially announced the rollout of three new artificial intelligence (AI) features for Copilot+ PCs, enhancing productivity and user experience. The latest additions—Recall, improved Windows search, and the Click to Do feature—are being introduced through the April 2025 Windows non-security preview update, with a broader release planned for May.
These new AI tools will be available on Copilot+ PCs powered by Snapdragon, Intel, and AMD processors, further integrating AI-powered assistance directly into Windows workflows.
Microsoft Recall: AI-Powered Session Memory Now AvailableFirst introduced in May 2024, Microsoft Recall is an AI-powered on-device tool that captures periodic screenshots of a user’s activity to help them “recall” where they left off. It provides a visual timeline of previous sessions, enabling users to retrace their steps effortlessly.
Following concerns from security experts about privacy and data security, Microsoft has made significant enhancements to Recall. The feature is now opt-in, ensuring that users maintain control over their data. After rigorous testing through the Windows Insider Program since November 2024, Recall is now rolling out to a wider user base.
Improved Windows Search: Smarter, Natural Language QueriesAnother major AI enhancement is the revamped Windows Search. Users will now be able to search using natural language queries across File Explorer, the Windows Search box, and Settings. Instead of relying on exact file names, keywords, or dates, users can describe what they are looking for, and Copilot’s AI will find it.
This upgrade is designed to streamline the search process, making it more intuitive and aligned with how people naturally express themselves, significantly boosting efficiency.
Click to Do: Contextual Actions at Your FingertipsThe third new feature, Click to Do, offers contextual AI-powered actions based on the user’s on-screen content. Working seamlessly with both text and images, the tool can perform tasks such as summarizing, rewriting, and copying content. It also provides an impressive one-click option to remove objects from images—even within PDF files.
To access Click to Do, users simply press the Windows key combined with a left click using their mouse or trackpad, bringing fast and context-aware actions directly into their workflow.
With these updates, Microsoft is reinforcing its commitment to embedding practical, user-centric AI tools into the Windows ecosystem, creating smarter and more efficient experiences for Copilot+ PC users.
