Kamala Harris is leading over Donald Trump in what is considered as the largest by any presidential candidate since Joe Biden in a weekly poll. This comes after Taylor Swift endorsed the Democrat over the Republican candidate for the upcoming November 5 polls.
A recent survey by Yahoo News/YouGov poll reveals that 61% of supporters for vice president Kamala Harris believe celebrities should publicly endorse political candidates, compared to only 11% of Donald Trump supporters.
Among registered voters, 61% believe that Taylor Swift's endorsement will positively impact Harris's campaign, with 86% of Harris supporters and 33% of Trump supporters expressing this view.
However, only 11% of registered voters feel that Swift’s endorsement would make them more likely to support Harris, with 79% of that group being Harris supporters. Conversely, 24% of voters, mostly Trump supporters (90%), indicated that Swift's endorsement would make them less inclined to vote for Harris.
Another poll by Fox News suggests that even though the independents favored Trump by 8 points last month, they prefer Harris by 12 points now.
Further, the survey shows a 3-point shift among registered voters in the 2024 presidential race since mid-August. Last month, Trump had a 1-point lead, but now Harris is ahead by 2 points, with the results at 50% for Harris and 48% for Trump.
This is the first time Harris has reached 50% support, and the results are the same for both registered and likely voters, which is expected since those taking political surveys are likely to vote.
