Kennedy Jr dismisses sexting allegations, says he met Olivia Nuzzi only once for interview

Send Push
Robert F Kennedy Jr denied allegations of sexting with New York Magazine's Washington correspondent Olivia Nuzzi who has been suspended for the 'affair'. A spokesperson from Kennedy's office said Kennedy met Olivia Nuzzi only once for an interview that she requested which yielded a hit piece.

31-year-old Nuzzi did not name Kennedy Jr but admitted that some communication between her and a former reporting subject turned personal earlier this year. She elaborated that the relationship was not physical and was only limited to chats. "During that time, I did not directly report on the subject nor use them as a source. The relationship was never physical but should have been disclosed to prevent the appearance of a conflict. I deeply regret not doing so immediately and apologize to those I've disappointed, especially my colleagues at New York," Nuzzi said.

Despite Nuzzi not naming Kennedy, Status which broke the news confirmed that it was 70-year-old Kennedy who is now in Donald Trump's team after he suspended his own independent presidential campaign.

What Nuzzi wrote about Kennedy

In November 2023, Nuzzi wrote a profile of Kennedy Jr when he was running for president. Nuzzi said the election would be a three-man race -- with Trump, Biden and Kennedy racing for the top post. She said the establishment press has been reluctant to cover Kennedy like a serious contender as Kennedy was an anti-vaxxer.

31-year-old trending on X

After Olivia Nuzzi's revelation, 31-year-old started trending on X as social media users observed that both Nuzzi and Laura Loomer are 31-year-olds. Laura Loomner was accused of having an affair with Donald Trump which she denied. "Between Olivia Nuzzi and Laura Loomer, it's been a huge week for 31-year-old women you could've sworn were older," one post read.

Kennedy investigated for collecting dead whale

The news of the sexting affair hit Kennedy as he confirmed he was being investigated for bringing home a dead whale some two decades ago. Kennedy's daughter in a 2012 interview said when she was six years old, her dad got a dead whale home -- he was such an enthusiast about dead animal. He cut off the head of the whale and strapped it to the roof of their minivan for a five-hour drive home. The interview recently resurfaced after Kennedy joined Donald Trump's team.
