NEW DELHI: Haryana's Nuh is on high alert for the Brij Mandal Yatra scheduled for Monday after last year's violence. The internet has been suspended and security has been beefed up in the region amid fear of riots.

There's a deployment of 2500 security force personnel from both police and paramilitary units in the area, police said.

Vijay Pratap Singh , the Superintendent of Police for Nuh, stated that the security personnel would be strategically positioned along the route of the procession. He further added, "We will keep a close eye on everyone through drones."

In a statement to PTI, Nuh Deputy Commissioner Dhirendra Khadgata expressed his assessment of the current situation, saying, "Situation is very peaceful, cordial ahead of the yatra and both communities (Hindus and Muslims) are ready to welcome it." This indicates a positive atmosphere and a readiness from both religious groups to embrace the upcoming event.

Here's all you need to know about the Brij Mandal Yatra:

  • Brij Mandal Yatra is a Hindu religious procession
  • The pilgrimage will commence at the Nalhar temple in Nuh and conclude at Singar, passing through the Jhir temple along the way.
