Student sends fake email plaint, held

To get back at his seniors for allegedly ragging him, first-year paramedical student at Mahamaya Rajkiya Medical College in UP's Ambedkar Nagar sent a fake email to college authorities - posing as a female student - accusing his seniors of sexual harassment , reported. Police later arrested the accused and seized his laptop and phone for investigation.

After receiving the e-complaint, an exasperated college administration reported the matter to police, who traced the IP address of the email's source and zeroed in on the accused. Probe revealed the student was allegedly ragged four months ago. He admitted to being upset over ragging and sought to avenge his humiliation.
