Yamunanagar: In a heartfelt moment during a public meeting in Yamunanagar, Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi met Rampal Kashyap, a resident of Kaithal, Haryana, who had been walking barefoot for the past 14 years as part of a personal vow. Kashyap had pledged to abstain from wearing footwear until he met PM Modi following his election to office.
Deeply moved by this, PM Modi expressed gratitude for the affection shown by individuals like Rampal Kashyap. Sharing his thoughts on X, the PM wrote, “At today’s public meeting in Yamunanagar, I met Shri Rampal Kashyap Ji from Kaithal. He had taken a vow 14 years ago—that he will only wear footwear after I became PM and he got to meet me. I am humbled by people like Rampal Ji and also accept their affection, but I want to request everyone who takes up such vows—I cherish your love… please focus on something that is linked to social work and nation building!”
The PM gifted a brand new pair of shoes to Rampal Kashyap and personally made him wear them while attempting to tie the laces but the latter did so himself.
