NEW DELHI: Both Houses of Parliament observed a moment of silence on Monday in memory of the victims of the AI 182 'Kanishka' bombing, a week after another anniversary of the terrorist attack.
RS Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar said June 23, 2024, marked the anniversary of one of the darkest days in the fight against terrorism , as two Air India aircraft flying out of Canada were targeted by terrorists. Regrettably, justice was never fully served in these cases and such acts can never be justified, he added. The horrific terrorist attack, that took place on June 23, 1985, had claimed 329 lives.
Dhankhar also underlined the importance of vowing zero tolerance towards terrorism and violent extremism.
