NEW DELHI: The ministry of external affairs (MEA) announced on Tuesday it has activated a control room, amid escalation in military hostilities between Israel and Iran.

"A 24x7 control room has been established in Ministry of External Affairs in view of the ongoing developments in Iran and Israel," MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal posted on X.
Jaiswal also shared the phone numbers to contact the control room - 1800118797 (toll-free), +91-11-23012113, +91-11-23014104, +91-11-23017905, +91-9968291988 (for WhatsApp) - and an e-mail ID (situationroom@mea.gov.in).
He also released emergency helpline numbers to contact the Indian embassy in Iran's capital Tehran, and the Consulate of India in two other Iranian cities (Bandar Abbas and Zahedan).

The crisis began with Israel's pre-emptive strikes, under Operation Rising Lion, on June 13, with Iran launching Operation True Promise 3 to retaliate to the Israeli attacks.
