NEW DELHI: Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav took a jibe at BJP over their loss in Ayodhya in the Lok Sabha 2024 elections and referred to the party's win the Faizabad constituency as a "victory of mature voters' democratic understanding."

In a recent speech during the debate on the motion of thanks to President Droupadi Murmu's address, Yadav emphasized his point by quoting, "Hoye wahi jo Ram rachi rakha. (This is Lord Ram's decision)."

The SP chief also expressed his ongoing concerns about Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), stating, "EVM pe mujhe kal bhi bharosa nahi tha, aaj bhi nahi hai bharosa (I did not trust EVMs yesterday, and I don't trust them today either)." He added that even if his party were to win all 80 seats, he would still not trust the EVMs, indicating that the issue surrounding EVMs is far from over.

Yadav further questioned the central government regarding the ongoing controversy surrounding the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET).

He alleged that the government is deliberately leaking papers to avoid providing jobs to the youth.

Speaking about the Agniveer scheme and caste census, the SP chief stated that his party is in favor of a caste census and will never accept the Agniveer scheme.

He assured that when the INDIA alliance comes to power, the Agniveer scheme will be scrapped. Yadav also criticized the government for not implementing a legal guarantee of Minimum Support Price (MSP) on crops and suggested that horticulture crops should also be given MSP.
