NEW DELHI: A day after jailed leader Amritpal Singh took oath as Lok Sabha member, his mother said that speaking in favour of Punjab 's youth did not make him a " Khalistani supporter ".
"He (Amritpal) is not a Khalistani supporter. Does speaking about Punjab, saving the youth of Punjab make him a Khalistani supporter?", Balwinder Kaur, Singh's mother said.
"He contested the election within the ambit of the Constitution and now he should not be called (a Khalistani supporter). He has taken an oath under the Constitution of India," she added.
