NEW DELHI: Guwahati Lok Sabha constituency is one of the 14 Lok Sabha (parliamentary) constituencies in the state of Assam . It is composed of several assembly segments including Dudhnai, Chamaria, Boko–Chaygaon, Palasbari, Dispur, Dimoria, New Guwahati, Guwahati Central and Jalukbari.

Lok Sabha 2019 elections

In the 2019 parliamentary elections, the Guwahati constituency had a total of 2,181,319 electors. Queen Oja, the candidate from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), emerged victorious with a total of 1,008,936 votes. Bobbeeta Sharma, representing the Indian National Congress (INC), secured the second position with 663,330 votes, trailing behind by 345,606 votes.

Voting date and result

The Guwahati Lok Sabha constituency is scheduled to vote on May 7 2024, with the Election Commission announcing results on 4th June, as per their statement on March 16.

In the first phase of polls, Assam recorded a voter turnout of 75.95% across five parliamentary constituencies in the state, and in the second phase of polling for five Lok Sabha constituencies, the voter turnout stood at 81.17%.
