NEW DELHI: GatiShakti has played a critical role in adding momentum to India's infrastructure development journey and is using technology wonderfully to ensure projects are completed on time and potential challenges are mitigated, PM Modi said Sunday after a surprise visit to the PM GatiShakti Anubhuti Kendra at the Bharat Mandapam here.

Modi's visit is being seen as an effort to compliment stakeholders for the progress achieved under the PM GatiShakti programme in the past three years and to further speed up its execution.

"Today, as #GatiShakti completed three years, went to Bharat Mandapam and visited the Anubhuti Kendra, where I experienced the transformative power of this initiative," Modi said on X. Before his visit to the Bharat Mandapam, Modi said, "PM GatiShakti National Master Plan has emerged as a transformative initiative aimed at revolutionising India's infrastructure. It has significantly enhanced multimodal connectivity, driving faster and more efficient development across sectors."

The Anubhuti Kendra showcases key features, achievements and milestones of the programme conceived by the PM to promote better coordination among different agencies to fill infrastructure gaps. Different ministries and departments have so far identified 156 infrastructure gaps related to first and last mile connectivity issues in major sectors of the economy.

Sources said during his visit, the PM appreciated the strides made in planning and execution of projects and lauded the adoption of the GatiShakti National Master Plan across sectors, which is adding speed to fulfil the vision of a Viksit Bharat by 2047.tnn
