NEW DELHI: A Vistara flight from Frankfurt to Mumbai received a security threat alert through a social media platform on Thursday. The aircraft landed safely at the Mumbai airport around 7.45 am. In the past three days over a dozen domestic and international flights of Indian carriers have received hoax bomb threats , most of them on social media platform X.
A Vistara spokesperson said that UK 028, traveling from Frankfurt to Mumbai, encountered a security threat that was communicated through social media channels. Following established procedures, the airline promptly notified all relevant authorities about the situation.
The aircraft successfully touched down at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport and was directed to the isolation bay. There, all passengers were safely evacuated from the plane. "At Vistara, safety and security of our customers, crew and aircraft is of utmost importance to us," stated a spokesperson from the airline.
Vistara added it is currently working closely with security agencies to ensure that all mandatory security checks are thoroughly completed before the aircraft is cleared for further operation.
