“Feels weird” - Paige Bueckers reveals her true feelings watching UConn from stands

Paige Bueckers was spotted enjoying a game between the UConn Huskies and the Louisville Cardinals. The Dallas Wings star was there to cheer for her former teammate and partner, Azzi Fudd . However, spotting Paige at the stands was a surreal moment for the spectators present there. Sports Commentator Holly Rowe approached the player for her comments on the game. When asked how it feels to be a spectator, the player expressed her excitement and happiness. She talked about how it feels weird and the “vibe is different” from the stands than being on the court.

Paige Bueckers was selected as the first overall pick in the 2025 WNBA draft by the Dallas Wings. Before that, the player had set records as part of the UConn team. Bueckers has recorded the highest scoring average in the team’s history.

Paige had her answer ready. She replied, “Definitely weird. Definitely a surreal feeling of being in a different position, watching from a different perspective.” Paige took a brief pause, initially expressing her emotions. Selecting the right adjectives to the emotion, she continued, “Not being yelled at when a UConn game is on. It’s all different vibes, but I am very happy to be here and very excited to watch from this perspective.”

Paige was part of the UConn team for five years before moving to the WNBA. In her first year, the athlete was considered one of the most hyped recruits since Breanna Stewart in 2012. Since then, Paige has started grabbing the limelight. By the end of her time with UConn, the athlete earned several awards and accolades. She was a three-time unanimous first-team All-American in college. Paige was also awarded the Naismith College Player of the Year and the USBWA National Player of the Year. The star player got emotional watching her former team perform well against the Cardinals.
