Bhubaneswar: CM Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday strongly condemned Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over alleged derogatory remarks made during a political rally in Bihar targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother, Heeraben Modi.

Calling the incident "extremely unfortunate," Majhi took to X to express his outrage. "This incident reflects the deplorable mentality of Rahul Gandhi and his allied parties. Such vile thinking is only seen in the Congress and its leaders," he wrote.

The controversy erupted following a viral video from the Darbhanga leg of Gandhi's ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra', where offensive language was reportedly used from the stage against the PM and his mother. Although Gandhi was not present on the dais at the time, BJP leaders demanded an apology, accusing him of allowing such behaviour from his platform.

Majhi further stated that the use of "offensive language against a woman revered as a goddess, who gave the nation a distinguished son," was a reflection of the frustration and inferiority complex within the Congress and its allies. "The people of the nation will never tolerate this and will give a fitting response," he added.
