NEW DELHI: Chikkodi Lok Sabha constituency is one of the 28 parliamentary seats in the southern Indian state. The constituency is set to participate in the third phase of the 2024 Lok Sabha election on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, with the counting of votes and declaration of results scheduled for June 4.

As a political stronghold, Chikkodi Lok Sabha constituency holds substantial sway in Indian politics, representing a diverse population and playing a pivotal role in Karnataka 's political landscape.

The 2024 election has further heightened the enthusiasm among voters, eager to demonstrate the strength of their democratic rights. The prominent candidates vying for the Chikkodi seat in the 2024 Lok Sabha election include Annasaheb Shankar Jolle from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Priyanka Jarakiholi from the Indian National Congress (INC).

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Annasaheb Shankar Jolle of the BJP emerged victorious from the Chikkodi Lok Sabha constituency, garnering 645,017 votes. His closest rival, Prakash Babanna Hukkeri of the INC, secured 526,140 votes, resulting in a margin of 118,877 votes in favor of Jolle.

The 2014 Lok Sabha elections saw Prakash Babanna Hukkeri of the INC clinch the Chikkodi seat, amassing 474,373 votes. Ramesh Vishwanath Katti of the BJP followed closely with 471,370 votes. The Chikkodi parliamentary constituency had a total of 1,442,206 registered electors in the 2014 election.
