NEW DELHI: Union home minister Amit Shah on Tuesday announced that three more political groups — the Jammu Kashmir Islamic Political Party , Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Democratic League, and the Kashmir Freedom Front — have severed ties with the separatist Hurriyat Conference .
Taking to social media platform X, Shah said, “Three more organisations... disassociate themselves from the Hurriyat. It is a prominent demonstration of the people's trust in the Constitution of India within the valley.”
He added, "Modi Ji's vision for a united and powerful Bharat stands even more bolstered today, as so far 11 such organisations have shunned separatism, proclaiming unwavering support for it."
Shah, who arrived in the Valley on Monday evening for a three-day visit, is also reviewing key developmental projects in Jammu and Kashmir.
A high-level meeting on the subject began on Tuesday under his chairmanship.
In a similar move earlier in March, Shah had announced that four other organisations had exited the Hurriyat fold.
