ChatGPT-maker OpenAI recently released an advanced voice mode for ChatGPT Plus subscribers, offering real-time responses without delay and emotional engagements. ChatGPT’s new feature has garnered users’ attention on the internet.
Expressing his views on the new voice mode on ChatGPT, Shark Tank judge Anupam Mittal has shared a post on microblogging site X, formerly known as Twitter. In the post, Mittal writes that “we all signed up for Amazon Alexa with a similar promise”, adding further that it now “sits lonely like a cat lady”.
Here’s what Anupam Mittal wrote on X
We all signed up for Alexa with a similar promise and today she sits lonely like a cat lady 😉 Even my kid doesn’t play with her anymore 😢 Not knocking AI, but so far only a nifty toy 🤷🏻
How users reacted to Mittal’s post
Responding to Mittal’s tweet, a user wrote “At the enterprise level, it already has high adoption. Maybe not so visible at the end consumer level.”
Mittal replied to the user saying “yeah .. we use AI quite a bit but it’s the ML variety used mostly for automation and algos. AI left loose is like letting your 6 yr old do your job. Hopefully, eventually she will be able to 😅”.
Another user commented on Mittal’s post: “AI definitely had its novelty phase, but it's evolving beyond just a 'nifty toy', Anupam. It’s moving beyond just gadgets to become useful tools in our daily lives, from smart home automation to personalized assistance. The future is bright for these technologies!”.
“Oh, I just remembered that I also have Alexa installed in my home after looking at your tweet”, wrote another.
