Dating app Bumble is set to launch new artificial intelligence (AI) features to assist users with profile creation and conversation support, according to CEO Lidiane Jones .
The upcoming AI capabilities will include a photo selection tool to help users choose their best selfies for their profiles. Additionally, Bumble plans to introduce features that will aid users in crafting their bios and starting conversations with matches.
Jones stated that these new AI-driven features are part of Bumble's "ambitious view" of how AI can enhance the value delivered to customers throughout their dating journey. The company aims to maintain high standards for profile creation while reducing user anxiety and friction in the process.
According to TechCrunch, the new AI-powered features are expected to roll out on the app this winter.
This move puts Bumble in closer competition with rival dating app Tinder , which recently launched its own AI "Photo Selector" feature. Tinder currently boasts 9.6 million paying users, while Bumble reports 2.8 million users as of Q2 2024.
Bumble has previously implemented AI in its platform, including the " Deception Detector " tool released earlier this year to identify and block spam, scams, and fake profiles. The company claims this feature has reduced such incidents by up to 45 percent.
