Wuthering Waves 2.3 phase 2: Schedule, characters and other updates

As Wuthering Waves is approaching its first anniversary, Version 2.3 Phase 2 is set on delivering the whirlwind of content. It brings fresh faces with some returning favorites. The update even introduces a powerful new resonator, offering the players a chance to recruit past the meta-defining characters. Here is what is brewing in the second half of the update.

Phase 2 begins on May 22, 2025. The main highlight of it is Ciaccona , the 5-star Aero Resonator, wielding pistols with deadly precision. Unlike the typical damage dealers, she has her specialization in Aero Erosion, which weakens the enemies, increasing all their vulnerabilities to wind-based attacks by 100%. Ciaccona’s kit includes crowd control, which pulls together the foes for devastating team combos. It makes her an ideal to pair with the Aero Rover.


Note: Pair Ciaccona with Cartethyia-like future units for the devastating elemental synergy.


Alongside Ciaccona, the fan-favorite 5-stars are returning. The list of characters includes Jinhsi (Spectro), Carlotta (Glacio), Changli (Fusion), Brant (Fusion), and Roccia (Havoc). The character's signature weapons, like the Blazing Brilliance (sword of Changli) and Ages of Harves (broadblade of Jinhsi), are even featured in the dedicated Anniversary Weapon convene. Four-star allies like Mortefi, Danjin, and Yangyang will also feature the boosted drop rates, providing flexibility for team-building.



Skins, weapons, and anniversary rewards

The Phase 2 weapon banner further introduces the Woodland Aria, signature pistols of Ciaccona, alongside the reruns of powerful 5-starred weapons like Ages of Harves and Blazing Brilliance. It will also have some 4-star weapons like Relativistic Jet and Undying Flame, round out the roster, catering to the diverse playstyles.


To celebrate the anniversary, the new skins for Carlotta and Changli will debut, sparking speculation of potential returns. Also, Kuro Games is resetting the top-up bonus for the in-game purchases, offering the players a renewed value for the premium currency.


The mysterious new characters like Lupa and Cartethyia are also arriving in Version 2.4. For now, the Phase 2 blend of innovation and nostalgia ensures Wuthering Waves fans will have no shortage of reasons for diving back in or joining the fray for 1st time.



More than banners: Events and the QoL updates

Beyond the new recruits, Phase 2 even introduces limited-time anniversary events with exclusive rewards. It includes upgraded materials and cosmetics. As per leaks, there will be a Sentinel legacy story event delving into the past of Ciaccona as Blessed Maiden.


Improvements in quality of life are expected further. With Version 2.4 Cartethyia and Luna already teased, Kuro Games will ensure that the players have plenty to look forward to and the reason to keep on celebrating.


Phase 2 runs between May 22 and June 11, 2025, offering the players 3 weeks to secure Ciaccona and the rerun characters. So, whether you are chasing the meta teams or the storyline, the update will deliver you depth and power.
