NEW DELHI: Indian politician and the son of former Bihar Prime Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav , Tejashvi Yadav recently shared his cricketing journey on social media, causing quite a stir.
The RJD leader claimed that he had captained Indian cricket superstar Virat Kohli in domestic cricket, a fact that has been largely forgotten despite Tejashwi's impressive career in the domestic spectrum.
He also mentioned that many current Indian cricket team players were his batchmates during his playing days.
Throughout his career, Tejashwi played one First Class match, two List A matches, and four T20 matches, representing Jharkhand in the domestic circuit.
His First Class debut came against Vidarbha in November 2009, while his List A appearances were against Tripura and Orissa in February 2010.
All four of his T20 matches were played in Dhanbad, facing off against Orissa, Assam, Bengal, and Tripura.
In an interview with Zee Media, Tejashwi expressed his disappointment that his cricketing achievements have been overlooked, stating, "I was a cricketer and no one talks about it. Virat Kohli played in my captaincy. Did anyone ever talk about it? Why don't they do so? As a professional, I played a good cricket. Many Team India players are my batchmates."
He further revealed that he had to quit the sport due to fractures in both of his ligaments.
"I had to quit as my both ligaments were fractured. Let it be," Yadav said.
