The Los Angeles Dodgers ’ ace, Freddie Freeman, is one of their key players who had a defining moment last year, securing the World Series MVP award. But 2025 had other plans for him. As soon as the baseball season began, he complained of a minor injury around his ankle, which caused him to miss at least 10 days. However, the situation worsened for him, as he has now been placed on the injury list for at least 10 days. The Dodgers haven’t announced who will replace Freeman for the upcoming games.

As per the Los Angeles Dodgers, Freddie Freeman hurt his right ankle after slipping in the shower at home. The injury took place on March 31. However, Freeman has now been placed on the injury list. Freeman hasn’t placed since Saturday.

The Dodgers had no game on Thursday. However, they will be able to add a player to their 26-man roster before the game against the Philadelphia Phillies, which is scheduled on Friday.

This season, Freddie Freeman only managed to play in three games. He hasn’t played since March end, after he was injured when he slipped in the shower. The team manager, Dave Roberts acknowledged the incident and called it a "little mishap."

However, this is not Freddie Freeman’s first injury in his baseball career. He couldn’t play two games in Japan, right before this season, citing pain around his ribs, an issue he dealt with during the World Series.

The same ankle injury was a worry for the Los Angeles Dodgers last year as well, however, Freeman managed to play despite the pain that was undergoing around his sprained ankle and broken rib cage. He managed to score home runs in four games of the World Series.

Earlier, the Los Angeles Dodgers’ manager Dave Roberts had said:

“Freeman might be ready to play this week and for the upcoming series against the Phillies. However, with this new injury, Freeman won’t be back until at least April 10. That also means he’ll miss next week’s games against the Washington Nationals—and the Dodgers’ planned visit to the White House.”
