Shani Jayanti holds a great religious, spiritual and astrological significance among Hindus. This day is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of Lord Shani. Lord Shani is also famous as Saturn. He is regarded as the ruler of Karma and Justice.
As per Astrology, Shani's influence can be growth-promoting as well as challenging, imparting important life lessons. Lord Shani is seen as a strong god who may lessen Saturn's negative impacts. 2. Many special puja's are performed to please Lord Shani Dev.
3. People visit Shani Temple and offer coconut, offer mustard oil, offer orchid flowers, light a diya mustard oil diya in front of the idol.
4. Many devotees conduct special puja to lessen the effect of Shani Saadhe Sadhi, Shani Mahadasha, and Shani Dhaiya.
5. In the evening, devotees light a diya with mustard oil under the peepal tree along with black sesame seeds, black urad seeds and black cloth.
