Chaitra Purnima is a significant day in Hinduism. People pray to Lord Vishnu on Purnima in order to receive his blessings. The majority of devotees travel to sacred locations to take a holy bath in the Ganga River on this auspicious day. On Purnima, it is believed that one can find salvation by taking a holy dip in the Ganga River.

Mantra Siddhi and special rituals are believed to be most effective during Purnima Tithi. On Purnima Tithi, devotees should worship the moon to enhance focus and lessen mental strain. On the day of Chaitra Purnima, Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated. It is believed that Lord Krishna, Radha, and other Gopis performed Raas in Brij on this auspicious day. Throughout the night, Lord Shri Krishna used his heavenly power (Yogmaya) to dance with everyone of them. In Mathura and Brij, people spend this day with a lot of delight and excitement. Radha Raasleela and Krishna stand for the oneness of the soul with the ultimate soul. In Mathura, Vrindavan, Brij, and other notable locations, this day is commemorated with a special Puja and Bhog.

On this auspicious day of Purnima, devotees are required to present kheer to Lord Krishna or Lord Vishnu. It is believed that if one worships Lord Vishnu with great devotion and dedication, Lord Vishnu will grant his devotees their wishes.

5. It is highly significant to worship the moon on Purnima day. Devotees can break their fast after offering water to the moon.
6. It is necessary to give food and clothing to those in need or who are impoverished.
7. Some devotees even use trained priests to do hawan and satyanarayan puja at their homes, serving bhog prasad to everyone.
