Barmer constituency of Rajasthan Lok Sabha Election 2024: Date of voting, result, candidates list, main parties, schedule

Barmer Lok Sabha , one of Rajasthan's 25 parliamentary constituencies, is open to all categories. Encompassing Barmer and part of Jaisalmer, it hosted 1,941,231 electors in 2019, with 1,422,271 valid votes. Kailash Choudhary of the BJP clinched victory with 846,526 votes, defeating Manvendra Singh of the Congress by 323,808 votes.

In 2014, the constituency counted 1,680,152 electors, casting 1,219,119 valid votes. Col Sona Ram, BJP, won with 488,747 votes, triumphing over Independent candidate Jaswant Singh by 87,461 votes.

The date of voting for the Barmer constituency of Rajasthan is April 26 (Phase 2). The date of counting and announcement of results is June 4.

Barmer Lok Sabha seat is going to witness a triangular contest this time.

Independent MLA from Sheo Assembly constituency in Barmer district Ravindra Singh Bhati announced to contest the election as an Independent candidate. BJP has fielded sitting MP Kailash Choudhary, while Congress has fielded Ummeda Ram who has joined Congress quitting RLP.

The supporters are excited after Bhati announced to contest the election. They were continuously demanding Bhati to contest Lok Sabha polls.

His supporters raised their hands and shouted slogans that Ravindra will go to Delhi. Bhati again asked his supporters whether he should contest elections because there is no reverse gear in his vehicle. He is 26-year-old and should get double support

Bhati said that there will be a lot of hardship in the coming times and he is fully ready to fight them. He said that he will contest the election with one condition that people from 36 communities will support him with discipline.

Bhati on March 11 took out five-day Dev Darshan yatra from Jaisalmer and indicated to contest Lok Sabha elections. After huge turnout in his yatra, the state level leaders gathered.

Umedaram Beniwal has also filed his nomination as Congress candidate for Barmer Lok Sabha seat.
