Earlier, Punjab Kings posted 201/4 after a commanding 120-run opening stand between Priyansh Arya (69) and Prabhsimran Singh (83). Arya shifted gears midway, completing a 27-ball fifty, before falling to Andre Russell.
Prabhsimran continued to attack before departing to Vaibhav Arora after his second half-century of the season. Despite key breakthroughs from Kolkata’s bowlers, Punjab crossed the 200-mark, with skipper Shreyas Iyer and Josh Inglis providing a late surge.
KKR’s cautious start was cut short by the rain, sealing an anticlimactic finish.
Brief scores:
Punjab Kings: 201 for 4 in 20 overs (Priyansh Arya 69, Prabhsimran Singh 83, Shreyas Iyer 25 not out; Vaibhav Arora 2/34).
Kolkata Knight Riders: 7 for no loss in 1 over.
Result: Match abandoned.
