Send Push

After presenting 'Hit: The First Case' and its sequel, actor Nani is now stepping into the spotlight with the third part of the franchise, 'Hit: The Third Case', where he plays a tough cop. The film is said to be bigger and more intense than the earlier parts and will be released across India in multiple languages, including Hindi.

Interestingly, Hindi audiences have already been introduced to the Hit universe through the 2020 remake of 'Hit: The First Case', starring Rajkummar Rao. In an interview with News18 Showsha, Nani spoke about the remake and shared his honest reaction to it.

Nani praises Rajkummar's work in Hindi 'Hit'
Talking about the Hindi remake, Nani shared that he hasn’t seen the film yet. He revealed that producer Dil Raju bought the rights from him to make the remake. He expressed his admiration for Rajkummar Rao, calling him a brilliant actor. He added,“I haven’t seen the Hindi version of Hit yet. It was produced by Dil Raju garu. He took the rights from me. Rajkummar is a brilliant actor. I’ve watched a lot of his films and I was extremely confident that they will make a much more superior product than us. I didn’t get to watch it but I’ve heard a lot of praises about the film, especially after it released on OTT. I’ve heard such good things about his performance in it."

Nani hints at possible crossover between Rajkummar Rao
Nani shared that he’s excited about the idea of bringing Rajkummar Rao into the original Hit universe, directed by Shailesh Kolanu. He hinted at a possible crossover between Rajkummar’s character Vikram Jaisingh and his own character, Arjun Sarkar. “I’d love to have Rajkummar back in the Hit universe. Yes, a crossover should happen,” Nani said. He also revealed plans for a new Hit film set in Karnataka, joking that the franchise is like “KFC – we can pick any state and create a story there.”

Nani reveals the hit universe wasn’t planned from the start
Nani shared that the idea of building a Hit universe came about unexpectedly. Initially, the team had only planned a direct sequel to the first film, continuing the same case. However, after reading the script for Hit: The Second Case, they realized it was a standalone story, unrelated to the first. That’s when the idea of a Hit-verse took shape, a universe where each film tackles a new case, featuring different cops from various states.

Expanding the Hit universe

Nani explained that each instalment in the Hit series is set in a different state to explore diverse stories and characters. While the second film took place in Andhra Pradesh and the third in Telangana, upcoming entries may be set in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Maharashtra. He also noted that switching lead actors helped keep things fresh, a choice that paid off. For Hit: The Third Case, the team ventured into new territories, filming in Kashmir, Jaipur, and Arunachal Pradesh. According to Nani, the franchise has now evolved far beyond its original concept.
