OSSC JE preference update 2025: The Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC) has announced an extension for candidates to update or modify their post, department, or HoD preferences for the post of Junior Engineer and Junior Engineer (Civil) under the Combined Technical Services Recruitment Examination (CTSRE)-2023. The extension comes in light of technical issues that occurred during the last two days of the original window for preference revision.
According to an official notice issued on April 25, 2025, the Commission has decided to allow additional time to ensure that all candidates get a fair opportunity to submit their updated preferences. The revised deadline for online submission is now set as April 30, 2025. This extension provides candidates two extra days beyond the previously scheduled date.
Extension follows technical issues
The preference update process was initially notified under Advertisement No. 4812/OSSC dated December 8, 2023. It was followed by Corrigendum No. 5045/OSSC dated December 26, 2023, and another Corrigendum and Addendum No. 5002/OSSC dated December 18, 2023. A subsequent notice bearing No. 2028/OSSC, dated April 17, 2025, had fixed the earlier deadline.
However, due to technical disruptions faced by several candidates in the final two days, OSSC has taken the step of extending the link availability period. The Commission stated that this extension is aimed at ensuring that all aspirants are able to access the portal and make necessary modifications without inconvenience.
Window available on official OSSC website
The revised window for preference modification will remain active on the official OSSC website — www.ossc.gov.in — until April 30, 2025. Candidates who were unable to make changes due to the technical issues are advised to utilise this extended period without delay.
Terms and conditions remain unchanged
The Commission has clarified that all other terms and conditions mentioned in the earlier notice dated April 17, 2025 (Notice No. 2028/OSSC), remain unchanged. Only the deadline for updating preferences has been altered in light of recent circumstances.
This move is expected to benefit numerous candidates and reflects OSSC’s commitment to maintaining transparency and fairness in its recruitment process.
