Ranchi: Residents of the Ratu Road area, mostly workers associated with the BJP and its sister organisations, on Sunday demonstrated against the terror attack in Pahalgam, which claimed the lives of 26 innocent civilians.
The protest saw participants calling for strong action against Pakistan for its alleged backing of terrorists.
The protestors, holding anti-Pakistan placards and chanting slogans, took out a march from the Ram Mandir premises to the Dhurwa Bus Stand, raising anti-Pakistan slogans such as "Death to Pakistan," "Wake up Pakistan," "Shoot the traitors of the country. The participants carried placards with slogans like "Death to Pakistan."
They demanded swift justice for the victims and called for stringent measures to be taken to prevent such attacks in the future. The protestors also emphasised the need for enhanced security measures and strong military actions along the border.
Sanjay Kumar Jaiswal, a Ratu Road local and BJP Jharkhand state executive committee member, said, "Enough is enough. Our people have suffered for far too long. It's time for Pakistan and its sponsored terrorists to be held accountable. We stand with the victims' families and demand that those responsible are brought to justice immediately."
Another local, Sagar Munda, said, "We are determined to save the lives of our fellow countrymen. If the govt allows us to go and attack those terrorists, we are ready to do that."
"We urge the Centre to take action against Pakistan immediately and punish in such a way that it would never even think of committing such an act again. The world should witness India's strength, and if India decides to act, they should understand the consequences," said Sakshi Singh, coordinator of Durga Vahini (Ranchi).
