NEW DELHI: In a proactive security measure, authorities in Rajasthan’s border areas have intensified surveillance and awareness efforts near defence establishments.

Jaisalmer superintendent of police Sudhir Choudhary on Monday said the local police, in coordination with the Border Security Force (BSF), are carrying out inspections and engaging with residents to prevent any sensitive information from being leaked.

"In border areas, we, along with BSF officials, are inspecting and creating awareness among the people around defence establishments," said SP Choudhary.

He warned that anyone found leaking information in exchange for money would face strict legal action.

Highlighting concerns over espionage, the SP added, “ If someone leaks any information for money, they must face severe action. If anyone is doing so out of fear or being blackmailed by the Pakistani side via any relatives, that person needs to inform us.”

Reassuring the public, Choudhary emphasized that a robust intelligence network is in place: “We have our eyes on everyone, all the machinery, and intelligence agencies are active; even civilians provide us information.”

The statement comes amid heightened alertness in border regions, where security agencies remain vigilant against any potential threats to national security.
