Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited ( UPPCL ) has initiated the ' Safeline Campaign ' to safeguard the welfare of on-field personnel and check electrical mishaps. The campaign was inaugurated online by the UPPCL chairman Ashish Kumar Goel on Wednesday. Under it, linemen will be given comprehensive safety training.
"Linemen, who serve as vanguard for electrical endeavours, will receive on-site tutelage regarding the deployment of safety kits, precautionary procedures and secure work techniques. The instruction will accentuate the necessity of wearing safety jackets, helmets, gloves and protective footwear," stated an official source.
The training initiative commenced on Wednesday, engaging 800 linemen across 14 divisions. Phase-wise training will be held on the sixth of each month until the conclusion of the current calendar year.
Goel said, "Safety apparatus is being procured statewide. All contract workers are exhorted to maintain safety vigilance and utilise the equipment unfailingly."
