Multipurpose stadium, startup park & convention centre on PPP model get IDA approval

Indore: Indore Development Authority (IDA) has decided to develop a multipurpose stadium to provide space for big events, including music concerts, on approximately 22 acre on Super Corridor.

The IDA board of directors, including Indore divisional commissioner Deepak Singh, collector Asheesh Singh, IMC commissioner Shivam Verma, and IDA CEO RP Ahirwar, took several key decisions regarding infrastructure development and public welfare projects in its meeting on Wednesday. A significant decision was made to construct a multipurpose stadium on the land reserved for a stadium located on Super Corridor. The board also resolved to issue an expression of interest (EoI) to seek approval from govt to undertake this project on a public-private partnership (PPP) model.

The board also approved certain proposed amendments related to the operation, maintenance, and upkeep of the inter-state bus terminal (ISBT) constructed under the authority's Scheme 139 and 169-A. In another decision, the board agreed to accept the highest bidder's proposal from the tenders received for the lease-cum-operation and maintenance of the senior citizen building on plot number RC-11 in Scheme 134. This decision paves the way for operation of the facility that was rented out at around Rs 3.5 lakh/month.

An EoI for construction of Startup Park in Scheme 151 and 169-B, in line with the previously received approval for a PPP model, will also be issued. Construction of convention centre in Scheme 172 will also proceed on a PPP model, with the board approving the issuance of an EoI for this project as well.

In a move to support cultural events, the board sanctioned financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh to Devi Ahilya Janmotsav Samiti for the celebration of the 300th birth anniversary of Ahilyadevi Holkar.

The board also decided to appoint a consultant for construction of residential buildings on plot number FP-422, covering an area of 1.613 hectare, in Town Planning Scheme (TPS)-08 under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) 2.0.
