Royal Challengers Bangalore medium-pacer Vijaykumar Vyshak took a brilliant catch to dismiss Gujarat Titans' Rahul Tewatia at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday. The latter scored a much-needed 21-ball 35 after he came in to bat at 80/4 in the 12th over, with runs hard to come by on a tricky wicket.

Yash Dayal, bowling the final over of his spell in the 18th over of the innings, was already keeping things tight and had dismissed Rashid Khan with a brilliant yorker. With just two runs coming off the first four balls of the over, Tewatia hit a four off the penultimate delivery and went for another one to end the over on a high.

Dayal's short-ball made Tewatia play the pull shot but he could just manage a top edge. The white cherry flew towards the third man region.

It was a bit far from where Vyshak was positioned and the right-arm medium-pacer had to run to his left. He covered quite some area in minimum time and dived in very low to pull off a stunner.

Tewatia's presence until the end of Gujarat's innings was much needed for the side as they suffered an early collapse. But Vyshak's brilliant take meant that Bangalore didn't concede many runs at the death.

Tewatia's 35-run knock was laced with five boundaries and one six, as he batted at a strike rate of 166.67. Meanwhile, Vyshak has bagged a reputation of being a brilliant fielder in the outfield.

"Quite happy as the team has done well. Glad that we could restrict them to 150-odd. Our bowling coach told me to hit the right areas, we executed our plans. We tried hard with the bouncers, happy that I got a couple of wickets," Vyshak said during the innings break.

The Karnataka medium-pacer struck twice in the final over of Gujarat's innings to mark a good outing at his home ground. Vyshak finished with figures of 3.3-0-23-2, dismissing Vijay Shankar and Manav Suthar.
