Ayodhya: Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on Sunday to offer prayers, marking his first visit to the temple since the 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony in January. After the prayers, PM Modi's roadshow on the 'Ram Path' commenced from Sugriva Fort and continued till Lata Chowk, with the route divided into 40 blocks accompanied by UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and BJP's Faizabad candidate Lallu Singh.

PM Modi performed 'Dandavat Pranam' before the idol of Ram Lalla at the temple. The entrance gates were adorned with flowers, and replicas of a bow and arrow made from flowers were displayed. People from various walks of life lined the streets as Modi's motorcade passed through.

PM Modi's roadshow in Ayodhya is his second in the last five months, with the previous one being during the inauguration of Maharishi Valmiki International Airport on December 30, 2023. The BJP has once again nominated sitting MP Lallu Singh from Ayodhya for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
Ayodhya (Faizabad) Lok Sabha constituency comprises five Vidhan Sabhas (legislative assemblies): Ayodhya, Bikapur, Milkipur, Rudauli, and Dariyabad (Barabanki). In the 2019 elections, BJP leader Lallu Singh secured victory by defeating Samajwadi Party leader Anand Sen Yadav.
This marks PM Modi's second roadshow in Ayodhya in the last five months, following the grand roadshow during the inauguration of Maharishi Valmiki International Airport on December 30, 2023.
The polling in Uttar Pradesh for 80 Lok Sabha seats is being conducted in seven phases. The voting for 16 seats was completed in the first two phases. Ayodhya is scheduled to vote in the fifth phase on May 20, with the Lok Sabha elections being held in seven phases till June 1. The counting of votes for all seats is scheduled for June 4.
