Gurugram: A woman at a society in Gurugram’s Sector 84 had a narrow escape when a lift malfunctioned and fell down from the 18th floor. The incident took place on Friday afternoon, triggering panic and anger among the residents. Several said both the builder and the agency are playing with the lives of people. The lift’s operations became risky after its expiration date passed on June 15, and no attention was given to the maintenance of the lift. After the incident, the woman went to the Kherki Daula police station to file a complaint. In the FIR, she alleged that the incident took place around 1:30 pm on Friday when she entered the lift from the 20th floor. She said after crossing two or three floors, the lift started to behave oddly, and then it had a free fall to the ground.
