OMG! Low Ratings for Prabhas' Salaar on World TV Premiere

Send Push

This is surreal! Prabhas-starrer Salaar: Part 1 Ceasefire was one of the biggest hits in Telugu cinema last year. And when the film’s television was announced a couple of weeks ago, naturally the announcement got everyone excited. Salaar has provided the much-needed respite to Prabhas at the box office. Recently the film premiered on television, and much to everyone’s shock, the ratings were low.

Low Ratings For Salaar’s World Television Premiere

Considering the kind of fan base Prabhas has and the magnitude of Salaar’s success, everyone expected the film to set a new record for television ratings. Turns out the ratings were very low –much to the disappointment of Prabhas fans. They seem to be perplexed by the TV viewership ratings. Salaar earned 6.52 TVR, which is too low for a film of this scale. At a time when fans have been looking to up the buzz for the second installment these low TV ratings came like a shocker.

Some argue that one of the reasons for Salaar low ratings was because of the violent content that may not be suitable for television viewing, especially for children. So there are certain films like Salaar and Chiranjeevi-starrer Waltair Veeraya which did great business at the box office but surprisingly performed low in their television premieres. Waltair Veeraya’s TV ratings were around 5.14 during its first telecast.
