Fast food chain McDonald's share prices dropped by more than 9% in the after hours of Tuesday's trading session. Despite less than 1% fall in the trading hours, as market closed for the day, a significant fall in the share prices of McDonald's hit investors' pockets. The fall in share price came on the heels of Donald Trump's visit to a McDonald's outlet in Pittsburg, Philadelphia earlier on Sunday. Many on social media alleged that the fall in the share prices was linked to Trump's visit to the outlet as part of his campaign trail for the 202 elections. However, the fall was actually due to a report by the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention which linked an outbreak of E. Coli to McDonald's Quarter Pounder burgers. As per the report, so far, 49 cases have been reported, which has led to the deaths of one person and 10 hospitalization. One user wrote: "Trump created E. coli outbreak at McD’s."
