Thane: A school Principal was brutally stabbed multiple times at Dombivli, Maharashtra, by a 39-year-old man, identified as Shakil Humayun Sheikh. The attack occurred near Kharbao railway station on Monday afternoon, leaving the 56-year-old victim severely injured.

The Government Railway Police (GRP) arrested Shakil Humayun Sheikh on charges of attempted murder. Senior Inspector Kiran Undre of the Dombivili GRP, said that the motive behind the attack stemmed from a dispute over the man’s wife's service record at the school where both she and the victim worked.

The incident took place when Sheikh confronted the headmaster as he walked along the railway tracks, questioning him about his wife's incomplete service record. The principal explained that the service book had gone missing, which apparently angered Sheikh. In response, Sheikh used a knife and attacked the principal multiple times.

The victim was then quickly taken to a nearby hospital in Kalyan, where he is currently receiving medical treatment in the Intensive Care Unit. From his hospital bed, the headmaster managed to file a complaint, leading to the registration of a case under sections 307 (attempt to murder) and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Local police have taken over the investigation to further examine the details surrounding this case.
