Drone footage from the encounter has provided crucial evidence, capturing the last moments of one of the terrorists. The body was located with the help of the drone camera, though the search operation remains active as forces continue to look for any remaining militants. The clash began when militants opened fire on a joint team of the Indian Army and Jammu & Kashmir Police who were conducting a search in the area. Reports indicate that additional militants may still be hiding in the forest, leading to the deployment of further reinforcements. This encounter follows a recent escalation in militant activities across the region. In the days leading up to this operation, security forces had already eliminated two militants in Udhampur district. With elections approaching on September 18, security measures have been intensified in Kishtwar, Doda, and Ramban districts. Extra forces have been deployed to secure densely populated areas and polling stations, while search operations continue. The recent surge in violence, including attacks in Doda, Udhampur, and Kathua districts, has resulted in the deaths of nearly a dozen people, including two Army Captains and seven soldiers. This increase in militant activity comes just hours before Prime Minister Narendra Modi's planned visit to the region on Saturday. You may also like
