Send Push

Rapper Drake's and Twitch streamer Kai Cenat's connection has been the subject of recent internet rumors. According to rumors going around the internet, Drake could have banned Cenat's phone after the streamer made comments about Drake's songs during a well-known dispute with fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar.

Background:
Kai Cenat, a well-known member of the gaming and streaming communities, and Drake have been friends for a considerable amount of time, as seen by their numerous public exchanges. During one of Cenat's FaceTime calls in November 2022, among other exchanges, Drake indicated that he would be interested in working with Cenat on philanthropic projects. Moreover, Drake has openly recognized Cenat's attendance and contribution during one of his September 2023 shows in Atlanta.

Recent Incident:
The event in issue happened recently during one of Cenat's Twitch sessions. While in the middle of a rap duel with Kendrick Lamar, he voiced disdain in Drake's lyrical ability. When Cenat tried to call Drake during the stream, people conjectured that Drake could have banned Cenat's number because of the alleged criticism.

Fact Check:
Upon further investigation by Dexerto, it has been confirmed that Cenat's attempt to contact Drake was unsuccessful not because of a block but due to an outdated phone number. Cenat clarified the misunderstanding by reaching out to Twitch and YouTube personality ImDontai, who confirmed that Drake had not blocked the streamer but rather had changed his contact information.

Contrary to circulating rumors, there is no evidence to suggest that Drake has blocked Kai Cenat's number in response to the streamer's remarks regarding the quality of Drake's lyrics. The incident appears to be a result of a miscommunication, as Cenat's attempt to contact Drake was hindered by an outdated phone number. The friendship between Cenat and Drake, as evidenced by past interactions, remains intact, with no indication of any discord arising from the recent events.
