'Despite Aashiqui 2, Why Am I Not In Demand In Bollywood?' Jeet Ganguly Asks | EXCLUSIVE

Jeet Ganguly, who once teamed up with Pritam Chakraborty, has given solo hits as well, notably in Aashiqui 2, which starred Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead.

Recalling the craze for the songs in Aashiqui 2, Jeet says, "I was so fortunate to compose songs for Aashiqui 2. Six of the songs in this film were mine, I got to work with very talented singers and lyricists, and of course, the producers Vishesh Films, and director Mohit Suri. We became like one family."

Jeet is delighted and surprised by the durability of the Aashiqui 2 songs. "Even after 11 years, people give this album the same love that they did when it was released. Even now when I perform the Aashiqui songs live on stage, the response is overwhelming. I would want my listeners to demand more such songs, he said.

Sadly, even after a success like Aashiqui 2, there was no clamour for Jeet in Bollywood.

"You are quite right. After Aashiqui 2, I did Suno Na Sangemarmar in Youngistan, then Hansal Mehta’s film Citylights - Muskurane Ki Wajah Tum Ho and all the songs of the film, then Khamoshiyan, Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi for the Maestro himself - Sanjay Leela Bhansali - who had given me the whole score, Raaz Reboot, Hamari Adhuri Kahani, Sarbjit… After all these songs, even I want to know why I am not in demand in Bollywood?" Jeet asks.
