Delhi Man Playing Kumbhakarna during Ramlila Dies on Stage. Police Suspect Heart Attack

New Delhi: A 60-year-old man playing the role of demon king Ravana's brother Kumbhakarna died after he complained of chest pain. He was taken to a couple of hospitals before the man passed away. The incident took place at around 11 pm in south Delhi's Chirag Dilli area on Friday during a Ramlila event. It caused panic among the audience, said the police. The police suspect that the deceased died due to a heart attack. Meanwhile, an investigation has been launched to probe the matter in all possible angles. Vikram Taneja, a resident of Paschim Vihar, was on the stage wearing the outfit of Kumbhakarna in Savitri Nagar Ramlila in Malviya Nagar. During his act, Taneja complained of chest pain. After which, his peers took him to Akash Hospital, from where he was referred to PSRI Hospital.

The police said Taneja died on Saturday during treatment allegedly due to a heart attack. Further investigation is underway to find out the cause of Taneja’s death. Police spoke with the family of the deceased, and recorded their statements. The family confirmed that there was no foul play, hinting at the death due to natural causes. Man Performing Rama's Role DiesLast week, a man died after he suffered a heart attack on stage while performing the role of Lord Rama at a Ramleela in Vishwakarma Nagar of Delhi's Shahdara, police officials familiar with the matter told Times Now . The man 45-year-old, was immediately taken to the hospital where the doctors declared him dead. The deceased Sushil Kaushik was a property dealer by profession. A video also went viral on social media platforms, showing that Kaushik went back stage after he was not feeling well.
