A woman from Colorado's Lakewood allegedly put a man into a headlock for 20 minutes after the latter was caught sneaking into the fitting room. The incident caught on camera happened when the mother of five was inside a departmental store's dressing room on Thursday, as per local media. The woman was later identified to be Michelle Chandler, who claimed that she was the victim of a Peeping Tom. The incident of her taking matters into her own hands has gone viral on social media.
The 56-second video of a rather lengthy struggle showed Chandler holding the unidentified man, while the sound of heavy breathing could be heard in it. Despite the other people present on the scene advising to not hold him further, the woman did not listen. Notably, a report by KDVR confirmed that the dressing room area accommodates both men and women.
“As I went to take these pants off, I bent down, looked over and I saw men’s shoes, socks and his phone pointing right at me,” KVDR quoted Chandler as saying. The incident sparked polarising reactions on social media with the majority of them supporting the woman. Whereas, some believed it to be incident that went overboard.
Chandler explained to the outlet that she did not want the suspect to have fled the scene. That's why before the cops could arrive, she grabbed him and kept on holding the man's head. The woman further said she waited for the police to arrive, and further pinned him to the floor. The Lakewood Police Department officials rushed to the scene after they received the reports.
