Bengaluru Murder: How Woman's Dismembered Body, Kept In Fridge, Was Found

Bengaluru: The people of the city's Vyalikaval area were left shocked when they came to know about the murder of a neighbour. What was more concerning -- the victim was killed, and her body was chopped into 32 pieces and kept in a fridge for around 4-5 days. The cops have begun an investigation into the gruesome crime case that is a stark reminder of the Shraddha Walkar murder case.The pieces of the body were stuffed in the refrigerator for days. Initially, there was a foul smell that neighboured complained about and thought it was coming from rotten food. However, as the stench smell troubled neighbourhood for two days, they asked the landlord, Jayaram, about the same, reported, reported The Indian ExpressThe landlord tried entering the flat to check the source. The door was locked from outside. Jayaram entered the flat despite the unbearable smell and opened the fridge only to find dry blood and the dismembered body. It was then he informed the police, the report added.Additional Commissioner of Police (West Zone) N Satheesh Kumar said, "A woman's body was found chopped into pieces and stored in a fridge at a house within the Vyalikaval police station limits. It appeared to have been done 4-5 days ago. The body has been identified. The probe is going on. We will give more information after the investigation. She was settled in Karnataka but is originally from another state."

Who Was The Victim? The deceased has been identified as 29-year-old Mahalakshmi from Jharkhand, who used to live alone in the flat, separated from her husband, Hemant Das. According to the report, she had moved to the flat five months ago after some domestic issue with Hemant. Her husband and daughter live separately from her.She lived in Malleswaram and was working in a mall, while her husband worked in a hermitage away from the city. After learning about the incident, he too came to the spot, the cops said, quoted PTI.Police said the woman was murdered around four to five days ago and probe has found that her mobile was switched off on September 12. Meanwhile, Hemant Das are being questioned by the cops in the case.
